Does this protocol work for Autoimmune Disorders?

In it’s full force, the Nemechek Protocol for Autonomic Recovery can greatly help children and adults with autoimmune disorders. I have patients with rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Hashimoto’s, Crohn’s, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis whose symptoms have greatly improved.

If a child is born autistic is it still possible for it to be reversed on your protocol?n

Yes. Children born with autism are very capable of experiencing remarkable gains with The Nemechek Protocol.

After my child recovers, is there a chance that their autistic or developmental issues might return?

No. If, after a certain point in recovery, you stop the protocol and the inflammation returns, the developmental gains you see will not be lost. What can happen is the prior injuries that your child has recovered from might slowly return over a few months. Symptoms of relapsing injuries are hyperactivity, poor focus, constipation, increased hunger, anxiety, or aggression.

Does The Nemechek Protocol work if the autism diagnosis is genetic?

Many children with genetic disorders do experience significant neurological improvement with The Nemechek Protocol. Children with autism will often undergo genetic testing to help focus the diagnosis of their developmental disorder. The problem with this random genetic testing is twofold. nnFirst, the specter of a “genetic disorder” implies it is irreversible and leaves many parents feeling that recovery is impossible. In fact, many parents are being counseled that because of these genetic test results, there is little hope for their child to improve. Secondly, demonstrating there is a genetic abnormality does not mean the abnormality is a cause of autism. Some genetic abnormalities in autistic children can be found in a certain percentage of all children with autism. This still does not mean that the identified genes “cause” autism. nnThere is a very real possibility that some of these genes with a high association with autism may simply trigger bacterial overgrowth or lead to a predilection of overgrowth with a propionic acid-producing bacterium. I believe this is more common than not and explains why so many children improve on my protocol in spite of their genetic abnormality.

Does this protocol help with adults with autism to improve neurologically?

Yes, it can. Although the improvements seem to come more slowly, the improvements are very, real and noticeable.

Does The Nemechek Protocol work for Auditory Processing Issues?

Yes. The Nemechek Protocol will help many childhood issues because they all have similar origins, an overgrowth of intestinal bacteria and multiple mechanisms that fuel inflammation.

Does Dr. Nemechek have an opinion on the ATEC chart for assessing progress?

The ATEC chart has been around for decades and is a reliable tool capable of measuring many aspects of your child’s development. The Nemechek Navigator is currently developing an in-house assessment tool specific to The Nemechek Protocol that will help parents assess multiple key features of recovery and provide feedback based on those metrics.

I was wondering if asthma symptoms can cause a SIBO flare up?

Actually its the other way around. SIBO is associated with reflux which at times can be “silent reflux” meaning the patient has no noticeable symptoms. The acidic gases from reflux are a well known cause of asthma exacerbation and bronchospasm.

Can I use non-sugar sweeteners?

I generally do not like artificial or natural non-sugar sweeteners because they can alter gut bacteria and metabolism in unhealthy ways.

What is Arachidonic Acid?

An omega-6 fatty acid that is part of the inflammation-producing process. Arachidonic acid is produced from the omega-6 linoleic acid that is found in high concentrations within vegetable oils.
